It all depends on individual circumstances and needs. Most investors choose to pay LMI. For reference $15k LMI works out less than $10 per week difference so it’s not a significant spend in the grand scale of things.
In a nutshell LMI is worth it if you’re confident that you’re purchasing a high growth asset. If you have done all the necessary due diligence, don’t let LMI be a factor that holds you back from making a purchase. I.e. waiting 1-2 years to accumulate enough savings for the cash deposit is an opportunity cost you should be avoiding.
