Circular Head LGA is a growing market with a healthy population and strong economic growth.

The Circular Head LGA has been fortunate to have an abundance of quality coastal properties as well as inland rural properties. The rural lifestyle attracts those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of city life as well as those looking for a quieter lifestyle.

There are many challenges, however, faced by the Council in this region of Tasmania. They have to manage an ageing workforce with low staff morale along with funding pressures caused by the changing environment. The region has favorable government policy on planning permissions with reduced timeframes for the project approval process. On the other hand, the region has been affected by Tasmania’s cutbacks in its Aboriginal funding. Finally, the high cost of employee remuneration and their lack of preparation has resulted in requirements for re-training in accounting practices, both internally and externally.
